NIR SHELTER – Writer/Director.
Nir is a writer-director who’s screen and stage works have featured in film, theatre and writing festivals around the world. He strongly values the importance of hands-on work, therefore after completing a B.A at film school at UTS, he dedicated over 16 years to gaining first-hand experience in film and television productions.
He’s worked on set and in post production, as a crew member, on a variety of local and international films and television shows. The Great Gatsby, The Wolverine, The Water Diviner, Gods Of Egypt, Banished, Top Of The Lake and Cleaverman to name but a few.
Nir has written television pilots, short films and web-series. He’s directed commercials, short films, corporate videos, stage plays, web-series, moved readings and he’s collaborated with artists on video pieces. In 2018 Nir was invited to enter the Australian Writer’s Guild Pathways Program for a pilot he co-wrote and in the same year one of his other scripts was optioned and put on the development slate at Route One Entertainment.
His projects have accumulated over 100 selections, nominations and awards, and have placed in some the industry’s most highly regarded festivals and contests: Final Draft’s Big Break, The Austin Film Festival, The Page Awards, The Nashville Film Festival, Screencraft, Shore Scripts, The Monte Miller Awards and more.
