Biographical Summary
Nicolás Ruarte / NoMa is an interdisciplinary artist. He works as a film and theater director, 3D animator, visual artist, audiovisual producer, performer, and photographer.
He is a student of the Bachelor of Visual Arts with a focus on Image Digitalization at the National University of the Arts (UNA). He is a teaching assistant for the subject of Craft and Technique of Digital Visual Arts - Image Digitalization in 3D Spaces, and an assistant researcher in the BioArt research team of the Zerbarini department. He is also an adjunct professor of 3D Modeling in the subject of Expressive Resources III in the Bachelor of Design at the Universidad Austral.
Since 2017, he has been working as a 3D modeler, photographer, drone pilot, and audiovisual producer for the National Ministry of Transportation.
He has been involved in theater since 2006, participating in various productions as part of the technical team and cast, including Arismendi, Umbra, HABITUS, The Story of Crying for Him, No Se Plancha, and more. He has taken on various roles such as general director, art director, set designer, performer, musician, and lighting and sound technician.
In 2018, he co-founded the artistic collective La Jauría performative theater. In 2019, he presented his directorial debut, Arismendi, a play based on events that took place during the last civic-military dictatorship, portraying the everyday life of Argentine society from inside the house of a commander from the 601 intelligence battalion.
In 2021, they won the FOMECA grant from ENACOM for audiovisual productions, and the production of Arismendi, the film, began. It is currently in post-production.
