Director Statement

Never Been Sicker is centered around my personal story of emetophobia, an irrational fear of vomiting. The thing about phobias is that they can control every second of your life – there was a time years ago where I couldn't get myself to eat, let alone even get out of bed. Every moment was dictated by my fear that anything I did would make me throw up. And even now that I'm in control of my life again, there are still times where my anxiety gets the better of me. I made this film to help myself process my own traumatic experience of living with this phobia as well as show the world what it was like. I also made it to show others living in my shoes that you are valid and you are not alone.
