My Heart is Not Afraid
The life of martyr Alojzij Grozde, from his poor childhood in Dolenjska to his life as a student and finally his tragic death. As a writer, activist, and skilful speaker with a combative nature, he quickly acquired a good reputation and found like-minded people among his peers, but also opponents. He paid for his upright character and patriotism with his life. For a long time after his tragic death, Alojzij was a silent witness to martyrdom, and today he is a role model to many young people.
The short but rich life of the Blessed Alojzij Grozde has forever marked the Slovenian Catholic space. The Heart is Not Afraid is the first Slovenian film depicting a Slovenian martyr.

David Sipoš grew up in a small town Ptuj in the eastern parts of Slovenia. Despite being a real bookworm in his childhood he constantly found new adventures outside in the nature. After high school he soon decided to start learning about filmmaking on his own and by making short films. His enthusiasm for the movie world led him to the USA where he got new experiences, but Slovenian cultural heritage offered him a lot of stories in his motherland. His latest movies include short fantasy film “Kresnik: The Lore of Fire” with various motifs from Slavic mythology and several feature-length biographical documentaries. David is producer and director at Studio Siposh and works in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Our previous film ‘The Burning Bishop’ about Archbishop Vovk, which has been screened more than 50 times in Slovenia and the world, has clearly shown that there aren’t enough films with Christian content in Slovenia and that audiences desire them. The film primarily came about due to the extraordinary story offered by Grozde's biography. Its purpose is to present the most important parts of his life and the historical situation that led to his death and his beatification to a broader audience. The re-enactments complement the documentary narrative and bring it closer to the modern viewer.
