At the age of 9, Tobias Böttjer began to gain his first acting experience. Since the age of 12, he has also been working as a volunteer for a local radio and television station. This developed into a passion for filmmaking. He joined forces with other young filmmakers and began producing films and gaining initial experience. Films from Tobias' team have already screened at various film festivals in Germany and other countries inside and outside Europe.
At the beginning of 2017 the idea was born to deal with the topic of climate change on film. However, it was clear from the beginning that we did not want to make a documentary film.
The aim was to find a new approach to deal with the topic in a fictional short film. So we created a kidnapping story that at first glance seems almost "classic" and personified the generations that will follow us (a little boy), the behaviour of the current and previous generations (the gangsters) and the protectors of planet Earth (Mother Earth).
