MoMo provides a level playing field for filmmakers where talent, creativity and hard work counts more than budget and industry connections.

Believing that anybody with a thought-provoking concept or a touching story can make a great film, the festival will showcase new talent using a tool so simple and readily available that it’s often overlooked: the mobile phone.

The Festival lasts four days and is packed with thought provoking masterclasses and Q&As as well as online screenings of the best films followed by the online Award Ceremony.

Awards & Prizes

The winners will receive mobile filmmaking equipment from our amazing partners as well as a certificate.

Rules & Terms

At least 90 % of the FILM MUST BE SHOT ON A MOBILE DEVICE (smartphones, tablets, GoPro).

DSLR, compact cameras or hybrid android cameras are NOT ACCEPTED.

Multiple mobile devices can be used.

Foreign productions are welcome in ANY LANGUAGE, but subtitles in German or English are mandatory (films in English or German don't need subtitles).

Any software to edit video (on the smartphone or a computer) and audio as well as colour correction or special effects is allowed.

Use of additional equipment (professional or home made) is allowed, including (but not limited to) external microphone, lenses, lighting, tripod etc.

Copyrighted material is NOT accepted, unless there is a written permission to do so. (MoMo is not liable for any copyright material unlawfully used)

The film must be an original production. It may not infringe on the copyright, trademark or other rights of any individual.

Films must have full clearance for all content, including music.

We do accept films that have been published online before submitting.

It is allowed to enter multiple films.

No extreme violence or racist content is allowed.

    MoMo was a wonderful festival to be a part of, the organisers are experts in the field and serious about promoting mobile filmmaking to the world. The line up of films to watch was breathtaking and even though we had to attend online, it was still a great way to catch up on the best Mobile films from the past year. The online platform was easy to navigate and Andrea and Simon stayed in contact and kept us updated on the progress of the film. Winning an award at MoMo was great recognition for our team and ONE PUNCH's story and message, and has helped us get this film seen by a worldwide audience. Thanks team!
