Nina Helene Hirten is a freelance director, producer, and editor in Los Angeles, California. After being called “Mrs. MacGuyver” on three separate sets, she founded Oh Just Peachy Studios Productions in 2000 and has since acted as a one-woman production machine - with a focus on producing original music videos as well as promotional materials on a for-hire basis.
Nina grew up in San Francisco and moved to Toronto where she graduated with a BFA in Film Studies (HONS) from Ryerson University in 2009. During her studies, she spent a semester abroad in Stuttgart, Germany, to focus on sound engineering and radio content creation. Upon graduating, she moved to Vancouver, BC, where she lived for 6 years working as a freelancer in the film industry.
She has filled a number of production and post-production roles on both low/no budget projects as well as multi-million dollar Hollywood feature films, including editorial and musical composition credits on feature documentary Citizen Marc, now on rotation on Superchannel, and Production Coordinator on Dreamworks TV’s DinoTrux. Some of her short film credits include 2nd AD on indie festival favourite Dead Hearts, and Crazy8 Vancouver’s In the Deep.
Currently she produces, directs, and edits as a freelancer in Los Angeles, CA.
"Rock This" is one of my most ambitious music videos - it is one of the first 360 music videos to feature both editing and VFX at a high capacity along with filmed performance, and I learned quite a bit from creating it.
I hope that you get a chance to play it on your phone using the Youtube app, where you will literally be dancing to the high energy beat to keep up with the high-tech visuals.
Enjoy!
