My Plastic is Your Plastic
“Mi casa es su casa” takes on a new meaning when a single plastic bottle travels across the Atlantic ocean, landing on another beach of a totally different city: My Plastic is Your Plastic. By following the journey of a single piece of waste, we discover different ways in which plastic can not only hurt the environment of your home, but cities across the world.

We each started directing this film, My Plastic is Your Plastic, due to a project we were assigned in our Spanish III Honors class. The guidelines for this project asked us to explain how our actions affect other Spanish-speaking cities around the world. My group was immediately drawn to the idea of plastic pollution and started researching ravenously. The more we learned about how even the smallest piece of plastic can have the biggest effect on others around the world, the more we felt we needed to take action in a bigger sense. We designed our stop-motion around promoting less plastic use and attempted to bring awareness to the true horrors that society is continuing to cause.
