In 1995, Yurinko's first screenplay PLAINFIELD advanced to the semifinal round in the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. From there he took a loan out against his car to write and direct the short film RETROSPECT to learn the craft of filmmaking. 1998 he inherited some money from his father's death and wrote and directed his first feature film FADING. With a long and painful post-production process, the film was finally released in 2003.
In 2005, Yurinko's screenplay FOR THE LOVE OF JADE also placed as a semifinalist in the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. During this time Yurinko was directing TV commercials for the northeast region. After 7 unsuccessful years of trying to get FOR THE LOVE OF JADE produced, he turned his sights on the horror genre.
2011 Yurinko wrote ENTITY during his summer family vacation. The following summer the film was financed and put into production in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.
Currently he is in development of a Scifi feature OCTOBER 30TH and another horror film IMPURATUS under Screengage, his production company he runs with actor/producer Holt Boggs, and ThunderSmoke Media with Guy Quigley.
