I often write stories with unusual protagonists, like pencils, musical notes, rice bowls, or soap. When I focus on each object with the thought of “let’s discover its good qualities,” their world expands in surprising ways.
My love for stories and imagination in my childhood and teenage years, as well as the pictures, picture books, books, music, and poetry I encountered, had an immeasurable impact on me. They have always been a bright light, illuminating the deepest corners of my heart.
Now, as an adult, nothing would make me happier than if the words and images I create in my stories could bring laughter, warmth, or the courage to take a step forward into the hearts of children.
