The Memory of Water

The first generation of Malians that arrived in my hometown tell the story of a collective journey that brought them from Africa to rural Catalunya. Speaking in their mother tongue, Mandenga, they share their stories, too often harrowing, often with the sea as a central element. We hear those voices as we contemplate an image of their children -born here Catalunya- swimming and playing peacefully in a community pool.
