Meera is a filmmaker and documentarian who loves to bring the best out of people both in front of the camera and in the audience as well. She was born in New Zealand, raised in Australia and moved to New York City to study film at NYU. Driven by her curious spirit, Meera has made shot films with farmers in the Andes of Peru and entrepreneurial villagers in India. Her short documentaries have aired on local television in Australia and her documentary "A letter to my terrorist" was featured in the New York Times. Recently, Meera has been bringing that documentary lens back into her scripted projects, sharing the powerful stories of those around her and uplifting their voice in the narrative.
Meera has worked with large companies such as Google and Bloomberg as well as small businesses. She strongly believes in the power of community and has been an active member of collectives including Pano, WOCU, Kalakars and the Pan Asian Screen Collective. She currently produces and directs commercial, narrative and documentary projects for Darling Street Pictures.
