In the background of beautiful nature new locations are created. Pipes, shattered houses - like a rusted blade of an engine, which died a long time ago. Being inside this engine, the human is frozen in a moment somewhere between the + and - , intuitively repeating the same mechanical actions. Actions that are not generating the future. Natural wealth is fighting an urban monster, this brings up a thought, why does everything created by the mankind look so depressive, when everything is so beautiful around us. Apart from the visual component, sound acts as the third instrument. Sounds of garbage were recorded for its creation, which invariably is the consequence of mankind's life activity, as a result this leads to destruction of all the living things. Under the influence of processing, the sound through destruction turns into a melody of untamed, raw nature.

Director Statement

Maxim Tatarintsev - Russian artist, works in genres of video, installation, public-art and painting. The main plot to his work is the social environment, as the main source of personality development. Through culture, signs, skills and knowledge Tatarintsev researches what was fundamentally inherited in the human being. The artist tells us that the thinking forms externally and all that is inside appears to be folded from the outside. Going through the stages of perception, analysing human and its surroundings, the artist extracts information and creates a perceptual image.

At first glance Maxim’s works seem to be an almost photographically accurate reproduction of reality. While using quite familiar images, making a collage from them, he creates a quintessence in which it is hard to tell the difference between illusion and reality. A moment in this general space without boundaries is filled with anxiety, the repetition of images and the movement itself reminds that life and the human in it, are cyclical, there for Tatarintsev’s videos are an active process of extracting information about the surrounding world.
