This matriarch monologue was conceived detailing a true story borne of tragedies and circumstances that altered the course of a young Chicanas life, my own. In this short film, the poetic prose detailing and breaking down the narrative of this Chicana caught between two worlds, is of one that is destructive and while the other is fighting to break through the initiation of becoming a matriarch when her mother gets burned in an accidental fire in their home. This film is just a seed of this character's powerful dichotomy of a raw, edgy and poetic voice.
