Manolo Fraga is the artist behind the new media art project ILUMINOUS, producing content for Video Mapping productions and merging / manipulating digital images and animations changed in real time as a VJ. With the project creates and collaborates with visual and performance facilities.
In the 2015 year participated in renowned international festivals. It was winner of "New Media and Public Art" prize of Rome Open Museum Exhibition in February, having his video mapping work “Atemporal” displayed on the walls of Quartiere Coppedé (Rome, Italy). Also in Italy participated as an artist selected from the Glow Festival (Arco Scoppa / Ostuni / May) with the work “P&B” and as guest artist of Bulb Festival (Alessandria / July). From April to August was part of the traveling exhibition of the Genius Loci Weimar Festival in the city of Weimar (Germany) with the work “Afflux” .
In September he was among the 06 finalists in the Video Mapping Contest of the Festival International du Court Métrage, illuminating the walls of the Théâtre du Nord / Lille, France, with the video mapping work “An entirely new civilisation", and among the 15 finalists in the 01 Minute Projection Mapping of the Projection Mapping Association of Japan, presented at the façade of Minatopika museum in Niigata, Japan, with the work “Consenso”. In 2016 was between the official selection of Proceso de Error - International Festival of Experimental Video, held in Valparaíso, Chile, and at Linoleum International Contemporary Animation and Media-Art Festival, held in Kiev, Ukraine, with the work “O Vôo do Navegador” (Flight of the Navigator).
