LOGLINE - TWO NEW YORK CITY DETECTIVES ATTEMPT TO PUT AN END TO A MOTHER & DAUGHTER CRIME SPREE

Mama Don’t Make Me is a short film that addresses the rarely talked about social issue of parents who use their children to help them commit crimes. Set in New York City, this gritty urban crime drama uncovers the accounts of a mother in a desperate situation and the desperate actions her children are forced to take. 27yr old Forever Monroe is a single parent from the projects who is stricken with stage 4 ovarian cancer. In hopes to set her twins 5yr old daughters (Amber & Ambience) up with a better life, Forever masterminds a series of high-priced jewelry thefts. Unbenounced to Forever, she is being secretly investigated by two passionate New York City detectives who hate the circumstances she places her children in. When these voices of opposition finally come to a head, Forever is faced with a dire situation that leaves her twins stuck between a gun and a hard place.

Director Biography - DAN ADAMS

Dan Adams is an award winning screenplay writer & director. He was born and raised in Woodbridge Township, New Jersey and is 1 of 9 children. He sharpened his creative passion while working for Atlantic Record’s video production & promotions department. After transitioning from the music industry to the movie industry in 2006, Adams started his own production company, Dan Adams Films LLC. Adams has directed documentaries, web series, short films, music videos and many industrial projects. Most recently, Adams wrote and directed a short film entitled “Mama Don’t Make Me” an urban crime drama that tackles the social issue of parents who force their children to help them commit crimes. The film is currently screening at film festivals around the country. In 2018, wrote and directed a short film entitled" A Woman of His Own", an urban spin on a classic Twilight Zone Episode. Adams was influenced by Spike Lee, Quentin Tarantino and Sylvester Stallone. He said, “Those types of directors really put their all into what goes on in front of the camera, but also behind the camera.” Adams commenced his formal education at The Art Institute of Philadelphia and received an Associate Degree in Music Business (1998). He then attended New Jersey City University, where he earned his bachelor’s Degree in Media Studies with a concentration in TV & Film Production (2010).
