L.POETESSES

Poland's first documentary about the evolution of the identity of non-heteronormative women .
A film about three contemporary Polish lesbian poetesses: A.E Frank , A.A.Grzelczak and I.E.Urban.
It is a journey into the inner world of the characters and also to their everyday life - usually inaccessible to the mainstream viewer's eye .
At the same time this documentary is an attempt to answer the question about the role of art, religion and identity in the lives of women that do not fit into the patriarchal system, which is very strong in Poland.

Director Biography - Monika Rak, Agnieszka Małgowska

Moniak Rak 
Born in 1971 in Warsaw (Poland). 
A graduate of the Theatre Academy in Warsaw / Master of Art (2000), extramural acting diploma ZASP (1997). Also graduated from the Warsaw School of Advertising in specialty: realization of television and film production (2008), 
Postgraduate Gender Studies ISNS UW course: Nonheteronormative Cinema (2009). In 2008, she have made her first short film titled: "They" (15 ') premiere in the cinema LAB / CSW in Warsaw. In 2016, in collaboration with Agnieszka Małgowska she had made the movie "L.POETESSES" (59 '), which tells the stories of three Polish contemporary lesbian poetesses.
Since 1990 participates in theater and film as an actress, for example: TR Warszawa - Howie and Rookie Lee (2001) / Teatr Dramatyczny - The show must go on (2012) / Damski Tandem Twórczy – Orlando.Trap?Dream. (2010) / Damski Tandem Twórczy - 33Art (2013)

Agnieszka Małgowska
Born in 1970 in Warsaw (Poland).
A graduate of the Theatre Academy in Warsaw / Master of Art (2000), Postgraduate of Genders Studies ISNS UW (1999)
Since 1995 she works as the theater director. Realized, among others: Pierced by. Gombrowicz (2000) / The Runes Power(2002) / Orlando Trap?Dream (2010) / 33Art (2013)
