Director Statement

Throughout this extended process, this piece was once performed on the stage with Lilia Deering. This collaboration in the choreography became magic as we shared the space between both of our personas. However, this became something more personal for me to handle that this performance needed to be captured by film. Soon as I story boarded this narrative, I realized there's more to these personas relationship. After we successfully filmed this beauty, editing only added the layer of depth that was missing; who these people captured were.
Mother and son.
My father and his late mother's relationship unveiled itself to me, and thus my memories of Freddie Mercury's "You Take My Breathe Away" seemed to be the perfect touch to this maternal romance between the two.
