Filmmaker, Darya Bradshaw was raised on the Northshore of Long Island, New York. As the “professional daydreamer” her inspiration is born from her endless fanaticizing and getting lost in the rhythm of music. Darya works as an international video creator and photographer. Since adolescence, she has studied and practiced filmmaking at various art and film production institutions. Throughout the years, she has created a variety of short films and music videos, including but not limited to, the music video “Fear” (2018), awarded first place at the Peace in The Streets Global Film Festival in 2019, official music videos for musicians locally and internationally, feature documentary, “A Man From Druya” (2020), and short film, "Love, again" (2021), awarded at New York International Film Association in 2022. Her ever-growing knowledge and experience, married with a deep emotional connection to music, creates this unique nature to her art.
This production was followed through during the first wave of the global pandemic. The cast and I came together, for the love of film, to create art. We did not allow anything to stop us from doing what we love. It didn’t slow us down, it fueled and accelerated production. When writing this script, I was faced with the challenge of creating a character based on someone who I had never met. It was a magical way for me to connect with Ann, in attempts to bring her to life through a fictional woman. My mother was young when she lost hers, and it wasn’t until January of 2020 that she came across this journal entry that is the backbone of “Love, again”. During the lockdown, is where I connected with my actors, held auditions, chemistry reads and production meetings, and made a new friend with musician, Thomas Byrne, based in Melbourne Australia and scored the soundtrack for this film. If we weren’t living in a time heavily relied on social media, we may have not connected… What makes this special isn’t how it came to be what it is, but when. While the world locked themselves up, living in fear, we created art.
