Director Biography - Valerio Matteu

In 1986, with my father's camera and American Blockbusts grown in my hand, I grow my passion for cinema as I graduate from Arts and Science of the Performing Arts.
I specialize myself first as Filmmaker at the "Fonderia delle arti" cinemas school in Rome, then as a video editor, graduating in a video editing master at the Sapienza of Rome and a Master in Cinematography, Shooting and Editing at the IASU in London.
In March 2017 I went to New York for a month-long intensive Filmmaking course at the prestigious New York Film Academy.

My guru: D. Boyle, Polanski, A. Robbins, R. Green, Bono.

The first company I collaborate with is OIKOS Comunicazione di Gianluigi Polisina, with whom I start experimenting with the world of communication for brand by making commercials and documentaries for various companies including Lazio Region, Prisma SPA, Nomissimo, Andrea Marcaccini Milano, Raf Ristorante, Imago , K & C, Alpa Model Agency, Netsys web services, The Gusto Restaurant Inn, Katena Costume Jewelery.

At the end of 2014, within the Datamedia Group, a communications, research and marketing company, where, under the direction of director Ambrogio Crespi and Luigi Crespi (La Malaterra, Enzo Tortora, Spes contra Spem, Captain Ultimo), I realized documentaries, political spots including docufilm Beyond the wall - 25 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

In January 2016 I started collaborating with Ruggiero Film Production, for which I came up with the film "Come Lolita" by Spanish director Jaime Ruiz Garcia; D.o.P. And editor of the short film "The Girls of Mario" with Tosca D'Acquino and Martina Pinto; D.o.P. Of the film "The Shadow of Satan" by director Anna Lola Pagnani; Director and Editor of the movie "Why I Love You" and D.o.P. of the film
"The White Nights" by director Mauro Conciatori.

In January 2017 I collaborate with Imago Artwork working on the editing of the docufilm 1768 Days, film by director Marco Gallo on Totò Cuffaro's life. Subsequently she is part of the production of Prisma Cinema / Cantieri sonori where I direct all the video clips produced.

I'm currently working on my first private film project, Sardinia - History of a Mokumentary trip to Sardinia.
