Loris Mora is a director, screenwriter and director of photography of nature films and documentaries. He was born and lives in Treviso and has been involved in film and television production for over forty years. From a very young age he showed a great passion for the world of photography and cinematography, making his first experimental short films at a reduced pace. In 1980, his meeting with Aldo Nascimben, a professional cameraman for great directors such as William Wyler and Pasquale Festa Campanile, co-author of television reports with Guido Piovene and director of photography for the well-known Italian documentary maker Folco Quilici, was crucial. A deep friendship soon developed between Loris and Aldo and Nascimben immediately became a precious teacher for Mora, who taught him important notions of cinematographic technique, in short, the secrets of “photographing with a movie camera”. Loris, specializes in wildlife cinematography and increasingly develops the conviction that the nature of "our home" is no less fascinating and interesting than the exotic one, always preferred and spread by the television media and, therefore, must be disclosed and valued; "knowing" means above all becoming aware and thus also being able to protect and safeguard. Between 1989 and 2003 he made some television programs paying particular attention to naturalistic cinema. He began a brief collaboration with the third Rai network, with Licia Colò and the television director Alfredo Franco, for the programs Geo&Geo and PIANETA delle MERAVIGLIE, participating with his friend Enzo Procopio in some episodes, also in the studio, both live and deferred. In collaboration with the production company ALCHIMIATREVISO, and always with Enzo Procopio, he signs the direction of other scientific documentaries. Words of praise for his work are also addressed to him by the English documentary maker Sir David Attenborough. In 2011, thanks to the collaboration of Omer Sacic, an editor specialized in post-production and VFX, he tries his hand at an innovative project that uses 3D computer graphics, making human subjects interact with virtual reality. Furthermore, he fulfills an old dream, that of making a small film aimed especially at young people. His love for nature and new technologies therefore lead him to begin working on: “CATERINA e IL MAGICO INCONTRO Katherine un dar sondorste bènnanzich”. The short film, starring Caterina Camarotto, an 8-year-old girl, turns out to be a charming fantasy set in the Cansiglio forest (a plateau of the Carnic Prealps located between the provinces of Belluno, Treviso and Pordenone) and sees the collaboration of Toio de Savorgnani, writer, mountaineer, co-founder of “Mountain Wilderness”, of the Cimbri del Cansiglio Cultural Association and of Veneto Agricoltura. It is a short and simple fairy tale that however contains an important message for current and future generations, on the protection of the environment. The film has obtained the patronage of the Veneto Region, has been recognized by the UN as a supporter of the INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF THE FOREST 2011 and has won awards at national and international festivals. Furthermore, thousands of copies have been distributed in numerous primary and secondary school districts in Veneto. In 2015, “L'ULTIMA CONSEGNA, due mondi così diverse, un'unica vera realtà” (THE LAST DELIVERY, two worlds so different, one true reality) was released, another short film, this time in the Science-Fiction genre, again set in the beloved Cansiglio, again aimed at young people and always monitored for the protection and respect of the planet. It too has received selections and awards, especially international ones. After years of filming in nature, carried out in our country, and an in-depth study on the sophisticated fishing techniques of the kingfisher, which required the use of special technological equipment and high-speed cameras, Loris Mora returns today with a naturalistic feature film entitled: “ENCHANTANTE TERRA dove l'acqua è vita”, an evocative journey into the territories bathed by water, to discover a fascinating biodiversity. To tiptoe into the most intimate and secret moments of life of the local fauna, the film required dozens and dozens of hours of stakeouts and observations in huts and hideouts. It is produced by IL DETTAGLIO CINEMATOGRAFICO Wildlife in collaboration with FILMPOST by Omer Sacic
