London International Short Film Festival

Just got back from attending the London International Short Film Festival where my film won best film of the festival! It was such an honor to attend and to receive this award. The festival was a memorable one and the directors of the festivals very helpful and communicative.

A very dissapointing festival experience. After arriving at the beautiful Phoenix cinema to no introduction from any team member, I brought my team and a few supporters of the film and seated ourselves. The festival organiser arrived to say "we had a much better day yesterday, sorry". All films were screened and the lights come on but the festival organiser had already gone by the point of screening the films. Myself and other filmmakers escorted ourselves out to a nearby pub. NO NETWORKING HAD BEEN ORGANISED, NO COMMUNICATION ABOUT AWARD WINNERS. There was minimal promotion leading up to the event or thereafter. It's clear that this festival is very much about just recieving the payment.

There are many other film festivals which put an effort into networking and sharing industry knowledge rather than just screening the films. It is important for filmmakers who have invested money and time to network with each other and festivals are usually the best place for this to happen.

Had a great time atLISFF , was great to go along in person, see other films and meet other film makers, huge bonus come away with a winner for my film also! communication great from the very start, very happy I took part in this film festival
