Lie to Me

Set against the backdrop of contemporary Taipei, Lie to Me profiles a romantic night out between an American expat consultant (portrayed by Drive My Car’s Sonia Yuan) and an aspiring local actress (played by Golden Bell-nominee Christina Mok). Over the course of an evening, the two rehearse a scene in a vibrant night market, simulate a gunfight at a jingoistic airsoft range, and wrestle one another in a heated bedroom roleplay. But as reality and fiction begin to blur, the couple is forced to confront uncomfortable truths about the performative and even transactional nature of their relationship.
