Director Statement

My newest music video for Late, from my upcoming EP of the same name, is the intro track to the project. It gives the listeners a sneak peek into my personality. Everything from insecurities of my past music and relationships, my extrovert personality struggling with finding comfort in being introverted at times, and the acknowledgment of my absence & tardiness from music. I poke fun at myself and my mistakes. I attempt to share the human side of rap music and how it affects different aspects of my life. Honest, I always want the listener to feel that I am honest.

The video is something I’m extremely proud of because I’ve always dreamed of having an animated music video. I feel like many up and coming musicians aren’t presented with the opportunity to create one. I had to jump at the opportunity. The concept is simple; put this character into famous movie moments, but transition from movie scene to movie scene without stopping. I wanted the video to be able to stand on its own and have the ability to hold the viewer's attention even without music. The song is the soundtrack to the cartoon character's life. He’s reliving these magic movie moments that are glamorized, but no matter how great or scary the situation becomes, or how powerful the character becomes, He’s hindered by his own vices and faults. It’s also fun as hell! Travis made the animation visually stunning; I can’t get over it.
