The Jar

A man chronically struggling to focus on his writing tries every possible way to solve his problem, from seeing a doctor to preparing a mix in a jar, believed to calm children when flipped and watched as it settles. He even tries jogging at his friend’s suggestion, and during the jog, they encounter Serhat, who, despite his past in prison, has built a stable life. Speaking of prison, they also mention Serhat’s late brother Tolga, who lost his life down that path. In the following days, these two former prisoners, who share both similar and distinct fates, occupy his mind more and more, making his problem even more unbearable. Things like going to the library or taking medication don’t help either. He clears all the furniture from his room, leaving himself alone with just a notebook, a pen, and the jar, seeing this as his last chance - aside from the idea of smashing the jar over his noisy upstairs neighbor’s head, who has contributed to his situation from the start, and intentionally turning himself in to the police, just to finally achieve the peace he has always longed for.
