Karen Sharp- Daughter of Esmond (Dec) and Joyce(Dec) Stephens of Mackay.
Born, Mt Morgan and bred in Mackay, graced with a privileged upbringing, attended Sunday School, primary education at Central State School, senior education at Our Lady of
Mercy, travelled overseas at tender age 17(England and Israel), twice married, divorced, now separated, and Mother to 25yr old son, Julian Hewat.
My work experience has seen such glamorous places and names as Dames and Dandies, Splendiferous, Great Keppel Island, Lindeman Island, and The Daily Mercury, as well
as working on a Kibbutz-picking dates, working in a communal living state in Israel.
I've also had a story published in the Womans Day in 2001. I discovered I had an extended family, a biological family, consisting of three other sisters, one being my hairdresser most of my adult life.
My first real experience with My Lord and Saviour was in Regents Park in London.
My Mum had sent Christian Books for me, Gods Spirit opened up my heart and amid a great flood of tears the gift of tongues was bestowed upon me as I gave my Life to Our Lord.
I have served in St Pauls Uniting Church Mackay as Elder, Wedding Officer, Presbytry Representative, under the Reverend Les Howard (Dec).
My experiences have given me a personal witness to the harsh reality this world can inflict on the people, and thus given me a penchant in life to see a moral stand taken against immorality, the corruption, the great cover ups, truths that are hidden among lies, deceits, and bureaucratic red tape. If we follow the law of the land, when the law of the land contradicts the moral laws of humanity then we are indeed, all doomed.
I am strong in the belief that God, has it all under control and my Faith continues to grow day by day by day.
