Fred, Nicolas and Pedro met during their professional career, which was and partially still is, as far away from filmmaking business as it could. All three have backgrounds in economics and business administration. What has driven them together is friendship and a strong interest in photography and cinematography.
During an evening, sitting together, the idea rose to do something that was new for all of them, a documentary. The main purpose was to combine their passion for cinematography with their other passion, that is traveling to uncommon places.
With “Kamaiya - A story to tell” they deliver a strong film debut and prove that without any budget amazing things can be realized when passion drives. They did not follow courses or visit a film school beforehand. The work and its result repose solely on the their motivation, the excellent cooperation with the Tharu and BASE NGO.
