Director Biography - J. Shawn Conrey

J. Shawn Conrey is an artist whose intent is to utilize creative expression of communication, through various mediums, to relay ideas and information that will inform and foster a sense of connection to others & nature, as well as the supernatural, that is:

of, relating to, or being above or beyond what is natural; unexplainable by natural law or phenomena; abnormal

Shawn's vision is unique, shaped by a highly intuitive and inquisitive nature, and penetrates unrepentantly into the mysteries of humanity and the universe, producing work that is both illuminating and leading-edge.

By delving into the inner reality, subconscious and conscious attitudes, beliefs and limitations are brought to light. Thus, we are given a glimpse into the duality of nature and the opposing forces, but with it comes hope in humanity's ability to transcend.

Current mediums are poetry, photography and film.

Director Statement

“I think that you can draw from the abstract and pinpoint what you wish to solidify into a creative form, regardless of the type of medium. My biggest inspiration is to share what truth I uncover in this life with others, whether it be in written or visual form. I believe that there are certain truths that are universal, but that art will always be subjective in the sense that one tends to take from it what they can see or relate to at that time in their journey. In other words, art lies in the 'eye of the beholder'. In that way, it isn’t limiting as the impact can be felt in many different ways depending upon the reader and their unique experiences and perspective.”
