Josephine Perry is a producer, playwright and screenwriter. She was Executive Producer and scriptwriter for Within Reach, an award winning documentary about the journey for sustainable community in America. The film was chosen as the third most influential film for social change in America in 2012. Her short film, The Silence of Bees, (about colony collapse disorder and the American family) based on the prologue to her stage play of the same title starring Jim Beaver,won the prestigious Accolade Film Award in 2008, an Aloha Accolade from the Honolulu International Film Festival,was screened in April '09 at the Southeast New England Film Festival and at the Cannes Short Film Corner in May 2009. She is a film and drama professor at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, California and as the founder of the department was the chair for 15 years. Josephine is currently at work on the development of new pieces in a variety of genres including television and film, stage, and fiction.
