Between 1987 and 1997 John was very active in Off and Off-Off Broadway theater. He directed four productions for Tony winning producer John Glines. He also authored numerous stage plays, six of which received Off-Broadway productions by The Wings Theater Company, Christopher Street, New York City. He left one stage for another working as an advertising scenics artist and art director for The Horvath Studios for twenty years. Now retired he has returned to writing, having authored four screenplays in the last two years receiving laurels as an official selection of The New York International Film Festival, a finalist at The Big Apple Film Festivaland a sceond rounder at last year's Austin Film Festival. John C. Wall is an MFA graduate of Florida State University's Asolo Conservatory.

"The Dark Side of Dixie" is an updated screen adaptation of one of his early stage plays. The 1993 stage production starred the then unknown Melinda Page Hamilton (Mad Men, Devious Maids, Damnation) in the title role as Dixie.
