Films are a fantastic way to entertain and raise awareness even if your audience doesn't even realize they are learning something new, about the world or even themselves. I love when someone comes up to me and says, "I never thought of it that way!"
NYC theatrically based actress diversifying into television and film with an education in VO work. My groundwork lies in theatre which I think is essential for any actor. I was fortunate to have Shakespeare and Company in my backyard growing up so to see some of the tremendous talent go through there was priceless.
By chance I stumbled onto a group of filmmakers that were doing a 72 hour film challenge in NYC and became involved with them. In order to really showcase your talents to the industry at this point and "step out line" of the vast audition pool to be noticed, you have to create your own work and this provided a fantastic opportunity to do so. I jumped in with both feet and made several films with the challenge and have since moved on to fully independent films with my own production company, Alphadu Productions.
