It's Not About You
Based on a true story, CATHERINE is a beautiful spiritual woman who is very much in love with her fiancee PAUL, a successful screenwriter in Hollywood. For Catherine, her relationship with God is paramount to her, therefore she has certain boundaries and morals that she is unable to stray from.
After many happy and romantic moments together, Paul wanted things that Catherine could just not give to him, causing a strain on their relationship.
Catherine was heartbroken when Paul revealed that although she was "perfect for him" he did not want to marry her, and her life turned upside down.
She accepts a job on Catalina Island, where she finds joy in a new job, new friends, and a new love interest that she is perhaps not quite ready for so soon after her breakup.

Nominee for Best Actress - Shon Wilson
Ariel was born (Kathy) in Fort Benning, Georgia, and grew up on Army bases among various cultures and learned how to embrace all of God’s people. “We didn’t see color as kids-just people” she admits.
This acceptance of others and excelling in her studies identified her as a leader at an early age.
Ariel’s first time producing and directing was at the tender age of nine years old! “I was watching TV and saw that "Jerry's kids" needed money. So I went throughout my neighborhood, which was on a military base, recruiting kids to help me put on the carnival, and those who weren't involved paid admission to it! I then sent the proceeds to help kids with muscular dystrophy.”
During Ariel’s teenage years, she directed her high school play "To Be Young Gifted and Black.” After college she produced and directed fashion shows, the grand opening of a major shopping mall.
Ariel helped secure a Small Business Administration loan and venture capital funds to open and run a premier exercise fitness studio. Executive producer of "Definitions for a Healthy Lifestyle" a bi-weekly cable TV show. Shows consisted of interviewing medical and health professionals on consumer concerns regarding
exercise. She designed the set, selected music, developed the show's topics, and selected guest and location shots.
Ariel Co-produced exercise segment on Channel 50 "Kids Point of View" TV show. This segment showcased the kids' aerobic program at Definitions Studio and showed their proficiency and love of exercise.
Ariel produced and directed the health and fitness fair. Invited over 20 health organizations, community
service organizations and local hospitals to participate in a six-hour health and fitness event. Motivational speaker and spokesperson for corporation emphasizing self-improvement. Traveled through franchise encouraging lifestyle changes. Spoke to over 2,000 people throughout Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia area.
In 2011 Ariel answered the call of the Lord to move to “Hollywood.” She feels God is doing something major in Hollywood and that she will be a part of that. She is called to produce a major movie in the entertainment industry. She is currently on “assignment” from the Lord while working with those in the entertainment through films, as an industry spiritual intercessor.
God opened up a door for Ariel to work at Warner Brothers Studios. She never applied for the job!
Since then she has worked for nine years at Warner Brother’s Studio and has worked on over six hundred productions! She knows her way around a set.
Her first short film “Lost Angels” went on to win the redemptive award at the Redemptive Film Festival. Distributed the short on platforms such as Parables TV, Truli, and other media platforms.
Ariel has also published three books and in 2012 produced and directed her first film, "Lost Angels” which received numerous awards and obtained distribution on many platforms.
This year the Lord directed her to produce and direct a Proof of Concept short “It’s Not About You” which premieres in November at the 168 Film Festival in Atlanta.
I love to bring real life to the screen.
I love to bring hope, truth, beauty, and love
to every project.
I am a passionate spiritual woman and love the art of filmmaking - the art of bringing the best people to the project and letting them do what they do best. I have an “eye” to bring
“beauty” to the screen out of the “ashes” of one’s life.
