I swear
What will happen to our environment if we do not take care of our environment?!?
Waking up in her bright room, a woman realizes that the hair on her head has abandoned her during the night; looking outside her window, she notices that the outside world is gloomy, in black and white, as if the colors have been eaten up by all the pollution.
Whilst doing her shopping, she finds out that each simple ecological act she performs or purchase she makes can help bring back the colors to her life and the world.
However the news is grim. In his TV show, the famous french TV presenter Maïtena Biraben, also bald, is speaking about the absurdity of a nuclear power plant in Las Vegas, that’s only purpose is to power all the town's casinos!
Yet, hope remains; she comes across some young people. They are in full color, they’re wearing sunglasses, are all happy and have what appears to be Jackson Five afro hairstyles, which are actually foliage shrubs on their heads...
Along with her husband and children, in the end she will understand... and soon she will be become part of the community.

Born in 1976, Pierre-Henri Gibert is the author of numerous documentaries about painting, photography, dance and especially the cinema (Henri-Georges Clouzot, Eisenstein, Bertrand Tavernier, Jean-Luc Godard, Jean Renoir, Claude Sautet, Jules Dassin, Georges Franju, Robert Bresson or still Claude Chabrol whom he accompanied on his last four movies).
He works on linear or interactive projects in coproduction with television channels, and he realized near about fifty supplements bonus for DVD collections for Gaumont, Studio Canal, Video TF1.
He has also just ended with Jacques Fieschi the writing of a scenario of first full-length film.
I could evoke Vincent V's musical qualities, the immediate seduction that the song " I swear " operated in me, it mattered of course in my desire to direct this movie. But in fact, the motivation is deeper still.
I was born in 1976 and I constantly hear about economic crisis since my birth, about the imperative of the growth which almost became a dogma. We care moreover few of it contains this "growth". Absurd destruction or project of future, everything seems to be equal since it makes turn the machine! No matter how, it needs to grow!
Nevertheless, our model of development is not exportable. The emerging countries (in the first ranks of which China), which aspire to our lifestyle, cannot imitate us without destabilizing seriously the ecosystem of the planet.
On the ecological plan, we are in a dead end.
There is something mentally ill in this step forward. And nevertheless, the ecological messages have difficulty in being audible.
Either they are too complex and leave us outer to a problem which escapes us, or they are too manichean to be simple, manipulator to be effective, ...
Aggressive, punitive, making us feel guilty, the ecology does not make dream.
And it is exactly what pleased me in the approach of Vincent V : he proposes us of the dream. His approach, as a citizen, passes by art. He develops a sound and visual poetry, not totally uncorrelated from the world where we live, but free enough to stimulate the imagination: men with the hair made of foliages, family waiting for the deluge in the middle of a tide of cars, men drinking some oil under neon of a supermarket ... we developed together these surrealist "visions" by favoring their beauty, their strength of evocation, their poetry.
Their meaning is not necessarily explicit and I like it is what.
Because they will be visually attractive, they will maybe allow to move on and to begin so an awareness.
The esthetics will be strengthened by the use of the black and the white. The color will be used to mark the ecological acts, what will not miss to arouse an interrogation at the spectator : why did the world pass in black and white? Why is such object, such individual in color? Even there, this awakening passes at first by a visual emotion.
Last element and not the slightest: the choice of the city :
It is very important because I want that the ecology can be embodied in an urban universe which tempts.
Fortunately, Vincent made me discover the “minergie” (Energy label leaning on limit very strict values of energy consumption) district of Neuchâtel and I had a real esthetic shock! However the Parisian I am, there is there for a dreamed city, something futuristic and of extremely beautiful with these glass buildings, these alliances of different materials There is an extraordinary visual unity in 360 ° and all these buildings are in human scale. We would like we could live there.
The idea to go to Switzerland pleases me so a lot with regard to this project because it is the country which shows the example in term of environment and for a long time. Maybe it is more difficult for the Swiss themselves to promote their model without being thought of as chauvinists? As French in any case, I feel particularly comfortable to come to value the Swiss ecological approach, this balance never lost between the man and his environment and among which many should be inspired.
