Mine
This film was shot in an abandoned mine in the Mojave. The piece is rooted in shared strength - two people who know one another deeply but are continually finding new layers. They relate to one another without predefined gender roles - both dancers lift one another in virtuosic and inventive ways, interspersed with quirky, personal moments.

Laura Karlin is a teacher, choreographer, and movement activist. She founded Invertigo Dance Theatre in 2007 and continues to work as the company's Artistic Director. Her choreography has been presented at venues including the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Ford Amphitheatre, Los Angeles Theatre Center, Broad Stage, and LACMA. As the company’s choreographer, she collaborates with her dancers to create virtuosic interdisciplinary dance theatre works. Laura’s choreographic style combines whimsy with intense physicality, telling stories from multiple nuanced perspectives and inviting audiences to experience a wide range of dynamics and emotional contexts. As an educator, Laura teaches company and master classes throughout Los Angeles, bringing her dance knowledge to a diverse population. She also regularly teaches for Invertigo's community engagement programs, Dancing Through Parkinson’s and Invert/ED education program. Laura uses dance to inspire connection, between her, her dancers, her audiences, and the people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds that participate in Invertigo’s community and education programs.
