In Dreams, In Reverse

"In Dreams, In Reverse" is a conceptual short film about the idea that doubt is spontaneous, volatile and mysterious. We live for the chase of the dream, the creative ideal, this is our humanity.

This film was shot entirely on the palm sized Sony RX0. The film features a bullet-time sequence that was created with a custom built rig housing 17 cameras.

Director Biography - Will Suen

William Suen wears many hats in the filmmaking world. As a commercials director he’s directed international campaigns for Sony, Electrolux, Rimmel, amongst others.

His music video's regularly air on Australian television and in festivals around the world. The music video “Anemic Boyfriend” premiered at Austin Music Video Festival.

As a documentarian he was awarded the AIDC Mentorship program to learn from some of the best filmmakers in the world including Erin Casper, Robert Fernandez and Kitty Green. In 2018 his feature documentary “When I Was Young, The World Didn’t Need Me” was admitted into the Antenna Rough Cut Lab.

Known for poetic imagery, William Suen’s cinematic works explore the raw and playful in human stories whilst traversing multiple art forms including dance, documentary and performance.

William is also the co-founder of the distribution company Half Symbolic Films. Currently they are bringing the works of Masaaki Yuasa “Lu Over the Wall” and “Night is Short, Walk on Girl” to Australian cinemas.
