International horror and fantastic short films festival. Organised in a small town (600 inhabitants) in the mountains of Seville pronvince, surrounded by a wonderful and beautiful landscape. Short films are screened during 4 days inside an old small stone medieval church. Parallel to the festival, workshops, training and concerts are organised, as well as guided visits to the natural park. In our last edition, Antonio de la Torre, the Goya to the best secondary actor was part of the jury and he also spent those days in our little town, talking to the public, sharing his experiences in the film industry. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO READ THE GUIDELINES.

The contest guidelines are as follows:
Open to individual or collective filmmakers who wish to take part.
Dialogue must be in Spanish (Castillian) or subtitled in Spanish (Castillian). IT IS COMPULSORY TO SUBTITLE IT IF THE SHORT FILM USES A LANGUAGE DIFFERENT TO SPANISH (CASTILLIAN).
Duration shall not exceed 30 minutes, including credits.
Works made before 2013 are ineligible for entry.
Works having participated in previous editions of this Festival are ineligible for entry.
To take part in the festival, the film must be sent in either DVD format or memory stick via post/courier or can be submitted online together with the enrolment form using the following websites: www.filmfreeway.com

If sending the short film in DVD or memory stick format by mail or courier, a completed registration form (ensuring details of the authors are clearly visible), a photocopy of the ID numbers of the Producer and/or Director, as well as the films technical specifications must be enclosed. The registration form can be found on the official website of the festival www.laviejaencina.es, in the section under ‘Inscripciones’ (Enrolment), under the heading “Ficha de inscripcion para el envio por correo postal o agencia de transporte del DVD o Pendrive del Cortometraje” (Short Film DVD registration form for delivery by post or courier). VERY IMPORTANT: If this delivery method is chosen, the details of the short film as well as a scanned copy of the deposit slip copy must be emailed to laviejaencina@gmail.com before the enrolment deadline. Confirmation emails will be sent by the Festival organisers, notifying receipt of these details.

Each film must be registered in the name of the individuals contained in the data entry form, being the recipient of the award that he/she may be granted. The organization assumes that this person owns the rights to the submitted work; in any case, the organization disclaims any liability that may arise from the infringement of this rule by any of the participants.

Submissions can be made between the 15th of October, 2015 and the 15th of December, 2015. Filing date will be considered for the mailing or transportation, postmark, packing slip, or ship date www.filmfreeway.com. These costs are to be borne by the participants. The organization accepts no liability for injury or damage that works may suffer in transit, but will undertake the necessary measures for their protection.

The organization reserves the right to reject a work because due to poor quality.
An official qualifier jury will be appointed for the awards, which will be composed of professionals in video, television, music, the arts and communication. They may declare any prizes to be void and decide on any questions not covered by these guidelines.
The audience will choose the Audience Award from among the works to be shown during screenings on the 28th, 29th and 30th of January 2016.

Animated short films will only compete in the following awards:Best Animated short film, Best Andalousian short film (if it qualifies), Audience award, Best short film of Sierra Norte (if it qualifies)
Prizes are subject to any withholding tax provided by law.
The jury may declare any of the prizes as void.
The authors of the winning entries or any representative thereof shall be present at the awards ceremony.
The jury’s decision will be not subject to appeal.
The III Festival de Cortometrajes de Terror y Fantástico “La Vieja Encina” will be in the Casa de Cultural in San Nicolás del Puerto on the 28th, 29th and 30th of January 2015. The screening of the short films will be free to the public. On Sunday the 31st of January 2016, the finalist short films will be screened with the the awards ceremony to be held afterwards.
Elibibility for the Award to the best short film of the Sierra Norte from Seville will be limited to any short films whose director, producer or any actor is born in Sierra Norte of Seville (Alanís, Guadalcanal, Almadén de la Plata, Constantina, Cazalla de la Sierra, Las Navas de la Concepción, El Pedroso, El Real de la Jara or San Nicolás del Puerto) or live in any of those villages. This accreditation will be provided by photocopy of de ID or register from that town. Also, they will have to fill in a form and send it together with the short film to the address mentioned above. This form can be downloaded from www.laviejaencina.es, under the Enrolment section.
Eligibility for the RTVA Award to the Andalusian Audiovisual Creation will be limited to any horror and fantasy short films of which the director is born in Andalusia or the production is Andalusian. To be eligible for this award please carefully read the guidelines found in Annex I.
Communication to the participants of the festival’s official selection will be via e-mail or telephone. Concurrently, this selection will be announced on the festival’s official webiste at www.laviejaencina.es.

Submitted copies of the works participating in the contest will become the property of the organization, which can project such works in centres and specialized rooms for non-commecial use, and reserve the right to publish and reproduce them, mentioning the author thereof and without charging entry fee.
The presentation of the works for entry to the competition will imply acceptance of these guidelines.

Annex I
RTVA Award to the Andalusian Audiovisual Creation Guidelines
First
The Public Broadcaster, Radio Television of Andalusia (RTVA, in Spanish), announces the “Premio RTVA a la Creación Audiovisual Andaluza” (“RTVA Award to the Andalusian Audiovisual Creation”) to be presented at Andalusian audiovisual events. This prize is to acknowledge outstanding Andalusian producers, directors, writers or producers, or the best Andalusian produced audiovisual work in all its forms, particularly in short film and documentary style.

This award demonstrates the commitment of the RTVA to Andalusia, its development and modernization. To assist in achieving these goals, RTVA believes in rewarding outstanding audiovisual works that have been produced or created by Andalusians as short films, documentaries, and exceptionally, films, or that they are fundamentally related to the Autonomous Community of Andalusia.

Second
RTVA Awards to the Andalusian Audiovisual Creation will be awarded by the Jury of the relevant contest, where a representative of RTVA is participating. Where appropriate, a special jury will be constituted for the purposes. This body may declare the prize invalid for awarding. Names of the jurors will be announced prior to its incorporation. Any incident that occurs in the interpretation or application of these guidelines will be resolved by the jury, whose verdict is final. Furthermore, participation implies acceptance of these guidelines governing the award.
Guidelines for the RTVA Award to the Andalusian Audiovisual Creation will be distributed publicly and will be available for those interested on the RTVA website.
Third
The winner of the RTVA Award to the Andalusian Audiovisual Creation will be presented with a trophy consisting of a bronze reproduction of the sculpture “El DILEMA”, by Mario Céser de las Cuevas.
Fourth
The award will be presented by the person appointed by the RTVA during the closing ceremony of the relevant competition, under the terms to be agreed with the organiser/s.
Fifth
The award-winning audiovisual work shall be broadcast by any RTVA channels within a time period created for this purpose. Acceptance of the award will transfer rights of broadcast to CANAL SUR TELEVISION S.A., by signing a document for this purpose. For a period of three (3) YEARS the award-winning work can be shown, including no territorial exclusivity for broadcast on different channels. During this period the work will also be made available on the Internet and for public communication by television, both analogue and digital, terrestrial-wave, cable or satellite, and transfer of free broadcasting and distribution in DVD rights of a limited edition of the award-winning DVD, if this is done.
Sixth
A work can only receive a RTVA award, even if selected for several contests.

Documentation
In order to be able to broacast the short film in CSTV, the RTVA must receive from the person/s awarded, within one (1) month, the following documentation:
1 copy in DVD of the award-winning work
1 copy in DVC PRO (Canal Sur’s broadcasting format) of the work
1 copy of the Technical Specifications of the work
1 copy of the DNI of the person signing the document transferring the rights attached in this Annex.
