In 1988 Raphael Ghobadloo was born in Berlin as the son of an Iranian father an a German mother. His family move to Ireland in 1995, where he went to school until they returned back to Berlin in 1998. After completing his American-High School Diploma and his Abitur at the German-American John-F.-Kennedy School in 2008 he began working as a Runner for UFA Filmproduktion. He proceeded to check out the different film departments, while shooting his first own short films. In 2013 he began studying directing fiction at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
Among studying he won the Pitch for a nation wide commercial in his first year.
