A new film festival established by the former staff of Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival, one of the oldest film festivals in Japan.
In 2023 we held our first film festival, which toured three towns in Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost and largest island.
Convinced of its success, In 2024 we have decided to expand the scale of the festival, give it a new name, and call for great films from all over the world.
The festival will tour seven towns from August to October 2024.
Aug. 23 - 25, Esashi Cultural Center
Aug. 30 - Sept. 1, Mori Community Center
Sept. 6 - 8, Kutchan Cultural Welfare Center
Sept. 21 - 23, Nayoro Civic Cultural Center
Sept. 27 - 29, Betsukai Lifelong Learning Center
Oct. 12 - 14, Monbetsu Civic Hall
Oct. 18 - 20, Taiki Lifelong Learning Center
In all seven towns, the scenery is beautiful, the food is good, and the townspeople are friendly.
The only drawback of those towns is the lack of movie theaters.
By Screening films in public halls in towns without movie theaters, the best film experience will be provided to the elderly, young people and children who cannot visit movie theaters.
The interaction between the filmmakers and the townspeople will be unforgettable for everyone.
