Important Note: This Student Film Festival ONLY accepts films from student filmmakers attending colleges, high schools and immersive art schools in California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington states. All submissions fees are not refundable.
About: Join us for our 3rd Grand Foundation Student Film Festival on March 16, 2019: Our Student Film Festival will showcase short films from college, high school and immersive film/digital arts high schools throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon and Washington states, ONLY. Entry fee is $20. Film submission deadline is January 11, 2019.
Genres include: documentary, indie, narrative, comedy, political/cause, experimental, and P.S.A.
For the third year, the Grand Theater Center for the Arts in Tracy, California will transform into a Movie House to showcase the works of young filmmakers, providing a platform to have their films screened by the public and to be juried and awarded. The festival will include a professional film talk by special guest speakers, a Jury Panel Discussion, and the event will close with a Filmmaker Awards Reception that includes a party to network with other filmmakers.
Up to $6,750 will be awarded in prizes for top films chosen by our jury panel.
Important Updates: SUBMISSIONS ARE ONLY ACCEPTED THROUGH FilmFreeway. ALL FILMS SUBMITTED MUST BE DOWNLOAD-ENABLED TO ALLOW US TO SCREEN IT AT GRAND THEATRE ON DAY OF FESTIVAL. Our submission deadline for student short films is January 11, 2019! Submission fee is $20.00 PER FILM. PLEASE be sure to download all submission forms and releases from our website (grandfoundation.org/events/film), complete them, and THEN, UPLOAD these required submission and release forms onto FilmFreeway FILES AND ATTACHMENTS and PAY your entry fees along with your forms submission on FilmFreeway ALL AT THE SAME TIME, to save us from doing a follow-up with you. In each of the college, high school, and immersive film/digital arts high school Filmmaker Divisions: The First Place Overall Student Film Festival winner (in each division) will be awarded $1000. The Second Place Overall Student Film Festival winner will be awarded $750. The Third Place overall Student Film Festival winner will be awarded $500. A total of $6,750 in monetary awards.
In addition: From all entries, there will be one Audience Choice Award winner.
