Director Biography - Matt Gilliam

Matthew Gilliam is the winner of the Audience Choice award for the 2014 Sacramento 48 hour film competition for directing the short film "Goldie" and one of ten winners of the 2012 "Place Called Sacramento" film festival for writing and directing "Squatter". He is also credited with both a Audience choice award and Producer's choice award in the 2014 "Place Called Sacramento" film festival for co-producing "Two Pods and a Pea". Matthew received a Bachelor of Arts from San Francisco State University's prestigious Cinema Department in 2005. He received Director and Producer certificates from Hollywood Film Institute in 2004 and stage managed the 2001 Cinergy Film Festival at SFSU. He is also a former production intern for Fox40 news in 1995.

He has been writing, producing, directing and acting in film, TV, and video in Northern California since 1994.

Director Statement

I've always wanted to do the 48 hour challenge and I've long wanted to work with Ed Fletcher. This project brought both of the goals together magically. It was a great shoot and a wonderful team of actors to work with.
