Clem Collin is a Comedy Director born and raised in Paris. She graduated from Beaux-Arts de Paris with a BFA in photography and screenwriting in 2020. She then moved to Los Angeles where she worked as an assistant director's. After working on multiple projects (music videos, short films, tv series) both in France and the U.S, she directed her first Comedy short film in 2023.
Goldfish is a short film comedy about how we handle rejection and the absurd situations we find ourselves in when we get hurt.
It’s about strangers that can influence our life in unexpected ways.
This is not a movie about confident people, this is a movie about sincere people.
They are relatable because they are deeply human.
It is not a caricature.
The reason I am directing comedies is that we get to talk about sincere people, not heroes, not the best version of ourselves.
We get to be vulnerable and tell the truth about who we are. Comedy helps us live with who we are. Comedy has helped me personally many times and I hope to do the same for other people.
This movie is weirdly inspired by a true story.
Years ago, one of my dad's friends had been dumped by his girlfriend and decided to pee in her fish tank as revenge.
At the same time, a very dear friend of mine was fired from a very important job and it triggered her panic attacks to come back, it turned her life around.
