Matías Franco and Facundo Giménez are argentine directors who have worked on various music videos. With FUGA, their first fiction short film, they merged their creative perspectives: Matías from the acting side and Facundo focusing on the producer's aesthetics. This project marks the debut of the production company TRIPWSHOTS in fiction. Both directors propose a Tarantino-style while honoring Argentine cinema.
The idea for “Fuga” emerged from the development of the character Selva, the housewife who is the co-protagonist of the film. We always wanted to create a “dark” atmosphere that was also tender and colorful, giving rise to Selva and, with her, to one of the key elements: the house. We set the short film in 1991, as it was a time with less insecurity and where people were more trusting, especially in towns like Suipacha. This influenced the aesthetic proposal, the art, and the music. Our favorite cinema is Quentin Tarantino's, and his influence on “Fuga” is undeniable. The goal was to keep the audience captivated with a gradually building suspense narrative, generating moments of claustrophobia but also comedic scenes that relieve tension and create complicity with the viewer.
