Streaming Platform Frudy.com is proud to present its 1st ever short film festival entitled:

Frudy Fest: Competition

Frudy Fest is built to honor the best of the best in short form indie cinema while being able to give winners of the festival true value beyond just the award that they won!

Winners will have their films screened in March 2023 at the Charlie Chaplin Theater located on the historic Raleigh Studios backlot in Hollywood, CA.

Frudy Fest will also host a luncheon the week of for the Winners at Frudy HQ! Frudy HQ is located on the backlog of Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood, CA.

Festival Attendees may purchase tickets in advance. We recommend purchasing sooner, rather than later.

We will be hosting a series of panels and a lunch and learn in April 2023. Tickets to that are also for sale now!

If your film is selected, you will be required to provide us with your DCP File + Drive within 5 days of notification of your win notification.

Festival Winners will be invited to Frudy HQ the week of the festival which is located on the backlot at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood, CA for a tour and will host a round table discussion on the impact of cinema and how we can continue to promote indie films on the big screen.

Transportation and Lodging for Winners and Attendees at their own expense.

Deadlines: Early submission is strongly encouraged with reduced entry fees until September 30, 2023.

The regular submission deadline is January 1, 2023.

We highly suggest and encourage all to submit by the regular submission deadline to properly coordinate in the case that you win any and all travel to Los Angeles for the festival. Please note, Frudy Fest is not responsible for any travel or lodging expenses for festival winners. Festival Winners pay for their travel and lodging expenses at their own expense.

Final submission deadline is January 20, 2023.
Any of Festival Dates are subject to change at anytime.

The Festival is not obliged to view entries submitted after that date.

Winners will receive award certificates and have their films screened at the Charlie Chaplin Theater on the historic backlot at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood, CA.

All winners are invited to attend a special luncheon with Frudy’s President and CEO.

Best Short and Best Bite Size Short Winners both receive award certificates, along with additional promotional opportunities for their films as well as a major Tik Tok Star promoting their film on Tik Tok.

The Frudy will be handed out to 1 lucky WINNER, WINNER the night of the show!

Short films cannot be longer than 40min.

By submitting to Frudy Fest you agree to the following terms and conditions.

All Sales are FINAL. There are no refunds!

*Submission Formats: For programming consideration, the festival accepts FilmFreeway screeners, or unlisted YouTube links of your project.The Festival will not consider trailers for selection purposes.

**Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for consideration, all films must meet the following requirements:

i. Filmmakers must provide Frudy Fest with a clean, clear print for projection. Filmmakers must provide the film for presentation in DCP at the Festival’s sole discretion.

If we allow other formats, we will notify winners closer to. For now, DCP ONLY!

ii. be in their original language with English subtitles when applicable.

vi. films previously submitted to the Festival and not programmed will only be considered for the 2022 Festival if they meet all the other eligibility requirements as outlined here, and only if it has changed significantly from the previous version submitted.

Requirements for Selected Titles.

Once an entry has been reviewed and selected for the festival, a preliminary notification letter will be issued by email. All selected applicants will be notified by March 15, 2023.

Upon notification, Frudy Fest may request additional press kits and press screening cassettes for each film, sent to the Festival via priority mail, complete with Electronic Press Kits and any additional promotional and marketing items needed.

Any unused press materials may be picked up at Frudy HQ at the conclusion of the Festival. Posters must remain displayed through the end of the day April 15, 2023. All unclaimed materials will be disposed of immediately upon conclusion of the Festival.

Promotional Usage: Participants agree that all materials related to their film may be published in the Festival Preview Guide, Commemorative Program Book, Website, Ticketing system, and other promotional materials or property and in all media. Posters and images of the film may be used independently as well as in combination with images from other films to promote the film or project and Frudy Fest.

ALL PROJECTS MUST BE PROPERLY CLEARED!
If selected for screening, all commercial/private property including trademark and/or copyrighted materials shown and recorded in the project must come with authorized permission for screening. The filmmaker remains entirely liable for any claims that may occur as a result of screening the film.

Print Liability: Frudy Fest holds no responsibility for prints damaged upon arrival and may reject or replace the film in the Festival if this requirement is not met. The Festival will insure the safety of film prints only from the time of delivery to the Festival through the time the print is delivered to a shipping agent for return. In case of loss or damage to a print, the Festival must receive notification and independent verification immediately. The Festival’s obligation is limited to compensating the producer only for the cost of replacing the damaged reel(s).

SHIPPING YOUR PRINT

Frudy Fest will only accept packages via FEDEX.

The festival must receive your print within 5 days of notification that your film won.

Selected film prints must be received by PREPAID FEDEX courier no later than 10 days prior to first screening date unless pre-approved by Frudy Fest.

You must include a paid return label with your package.

Prints will be returned to the Submission Contact within 15 business days after the close of the Festival unless pre-arranged with Frudy Fest prior to May 15, 2023.

Please clearly indicate on all waybills that transportation and customs charges will be billed to the sender. For custom’s purposes please indicate under declaration “Goods on loan for cultural and educational purposes only. No Commercial Value.” And indicate fair market value not to exceed U.S. $20 for video cassettes and U.S. $500 for film or project prints.

Any of the festival dates including due dates and/or festival dates are subject to change at any time per discretion of the festival director.
