Emre is an arrogant, cheesy radio boy. In his programs he speaks about issues like morality, love and friendship. One day, someone connects to his radio program by telephone. He says he took his sister hostage and if cut off the broadcast, he will never see his sister again. He orders Emre to find an amount of money from his friends within an hour, in live broadcast. Emre speaks about friendship too much; and because of that, the blackmailer is intent on showing Emre's distorted friendships in the live broadcasts.

Director Statement

In today's conditions, cinema is one of the strongest forms of self-expression. It may turn into a communication that calls upon hope or a weapon that is pointed at evil. In a short period of time, it is possible for the viewer to experience the thoughts which is accumulated for years.

In this sense, I am about to show a problem of corruption, which I can not find any other way of expression, from my perspective with my short film called "Frequency". In my opinion, arrogance is a common disease, especially in the present-day middle class. Because reading gives humility, however inadequate reading is the worst. That's why our society has plenty of terrible intellectuals. The main character of the film, Emre, represents these people.

There are certain reasons why I prefer radio studio as a venue in the movie. The radio is not just a broadcasting organ. The possibility of having hundreds, maybe even thousands of audience... This feelings increases arrogance of the person who broadcasts it. So, radio station is very suitable for our character. In addition, the narrow and limited space of the radio studio is helping to correctly picture Emre's sharpened and shallowed mind world.
