Fonting the City

A number of designers walk around the city to look for the “forgotten typefaces.” Among the discoveries are old store signs, handwritten typeface by old craftsmen, even calligraphy on tea menu by the post-80s… They begin an adventure in typefaces and aspire to draw people’s attention to this oft-ignored aesthetics.

Director Statement

People nowadays use keyboards more often than pens and are only familiar with the fonts appeared on electronic devices. This short film aims to call attention to typefaces and eventually serves as a gateway to aesthetics and local culture.
