FLIGHT INTO DARKNESS (2024)

film critics comments: "(...) heavily stylised and lyrical..solid and powerful piece of filmmaking (...) captivating performances (...) intense watch (...) it could almost be a 1960s TV advert for Christian Dior. (...) there is no denying the visual power of the piece. (...)“

In her roothless struggle for a new beginning abroad, Marias ambivalent relationship to her brother Daniel gains more implosive power than ever expected. Based on a novel by Arthur Schnitzler, flight into darkness marks a thightrope walk between past and future - between vienna and buenos aires.

Director Statement

The film you are going to see was for me personally really my artistic enlightenment as if it would be a feature film and I ask you to consider it like that. It was the first time I decided to cruelly go for something I feel and it's not about to please you so see the strength or see the weakness but I kindly ask you to dive in and embrace it.

I still consider it as a piece of art that is certainly outstanding. Photography, conceptual consequence and audience resonance are one of a kind and the casts performances can surely - as I still see it - compete with any Oscar-worthy and award-winning competitors.

We spent four years in shooting editing it had so many forms was redeveloped I can ensure you most of the thoughts you will have and most of the things you will see we pretty much know that it's there and why it's there - so dive in enjoy and embrace it give it a space and let yourself fall into.
