Fiona Kida is a Tanzanian-American writer/director/producer from Nashville, now based in Los Angeles. She graduated from USC majoring in Film & TV Production, has worked as an Associate Producer at Google’s Creative Lab in NYC, and interned at Bad Robot, NBCUniversal, and Pixomondo. She’s produced shorts that have screened at 25+ international film festivals and been nominated for a student Emmy in writing and directing.
Most recently, she worked as an Office PA at Annapurna Pictures. Last summer, a feature script she wrote got into the 2nd round of Sundance’s 2021 Development Track. In January, she won the 2021 WAVE Grant for her short script “Blue Hour” that she has since produced, directed, and is in the midst of post-production for. She will also compose the music for the short film. Her passion is to tell bittersweet stories that hold a catharsis in their complete vulnerability.
