FilmPride is run on behalf of Brighton & Hove Pride by The Latest Music Bar.

Brighton & Hove Pride is one of the biggest Pride festivals in the world, and The Guardian describes it as “The country’s most popular LGBTQ+ event”.

FilmPride is part of Fabuloso in the Park – Brighton & Hove Pride’s official fundraiser for the Brighton Rainbow Fund.

As well as public screenings before Pride, during Brighton & Hove Pride weekend, the FilmPride festival will take place in Preston Park, the beating heart of every year’s event.

If your film is selected, you will be included in our weekend programme and belong to something truly fabulous: Brighton & Hove Pride is the biggest LGBTQIA+ event in the UK!

Furthermore, if your film is selected, you will also be invited to join us in the Pride parade on the Saturday morning of the Pride weekend. This is completely optional, but it's a truly wonderful experience!

Our festival is unique as, as well as hosting live events during Brighton & Hove Pride, we offer selected filmmakers the opportunity to be screened on community, not-for-profit local TV channels in the UK such as Latest TV in Brighton and Northern Visions in Belfast (but you can opt out of this). The FilmPride TV festival is a huge success; the two channels combined serve over 700,000 households, so if your film is on our channels, it will be seen by thousands more!

FilmPride does not have premiere status requirements.

ENGLISH SUBTITLES will be requested for every selected film, even English-speaking ones, for accessibility purposes.

FilmPride reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any projects submitted. If accepted, you must be able to provide the festival with a downloadable high-resolution export of your film, as well as at least one high-quality still image for promotional purposes.

For purposes of submission, all films must be submitted as online screeners through FilmFreeway. Submitted films must be complete. Works-in-progress will not be accepted. All material in your film must be your own original work - you must have the rights to all images, music, and on-screen talent featured in your film. For the purpose of accessibility, English subtitles will be required for all selected submissions.

By submitting your film, you acknowledge that you are giving permission to FilmPride to utilize still images and trailers from your film for non-commercial use in promoting the event. Submission of your film also indicates consent to the copyright agreement below.

  • This was an excellent film festival, and my first big screening! Deborah and the team were so lovely, it was beautiful being amongst such a loving community with a range of high-end and lower budget films. Even had my film screened in PictureHouse, which I didn't ever expect to happen - all thanks to the FilmPride team! I hope to take part in this again in the future, really can't recommend it enough!
