FilmPride is run on behalf of Brighton & Hove Pride by The Latest Music Bar.

Brighton & Hove Pride is one of the biggest Pride festivals in the world, and The Guardian describes it as “The country’s most popular LGBTQ+ event”.

FilmPride is part of Fabuloso in the Park – Brighton & Hove Pride’s official fundraiser for the Brighton Rainbow Fund.

During Brighton & Hove Pride weekend, the FilmPride festival will take place in Preston Park, the beating heart of every year’s event.

If your film is selected, you will be included in our weekend programme and belong to something truly fabulous: Brighton & Hove Pride is the biggest LGBTQIA+ event in the UK!

Our festival is unique as, as well as hosting live events during Brighton & Hove Pride, we offer selected filmmakers the opportunity to be screened on community, not-for-profit local TV channels in the UK such as Latest TV in Brighton and Northern Visions in Belfast (but you can opt out of this). The FilmPride TV festival is a huge success; the two channels combined serve over 700,000 households, so if your film is on our channels, it will be seen by thousands more!

FilmPride does not have premiere status requirements. International films in non-English language are very welcome but must contain English subtitles.

FilmPride reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any projects submitted. If accepted, you must be able to provide the festival with a downloadable high-resolution export of your film, as well as at least one high-quality still image for promotional purposes.

For purposes of submission, all films must be submitted as online screeners through FilmFreeway. Submitted films must be complete. Works-in-progress will not be accepted. All material in your film must be your own original work - you must have the rights to all images, music, and on-screen talent featured in your film. Films that do not adhere to copyright laws will be disqualified. Submission fees are non-refundable. For the purpose of accessibility, English subtitles will be required for all selected submissions.

By submitting your film, you acknowledge that you are giving permission to FilmPride to utilize still images and trailers from your film for non-commercial use in promoting the event. Submission of your film also indicates consent to the copyright agreement below.

I state that I am authorized to submit this film to FilmPride for consideration, and have read, understood, and agree to all the requirements. I hereby release the Festival from all responsibility for loss of or damage to submitted materials. As this is a competitive festival, I understand there are no guarantees that my film will be accepted for screening. Entry materials will not be returned.

I agree that I have secured all necessary rights for both picture and sound, and exhibition will not violate or infringe upon any rights including, but not limited to music, images, and content.

We have been lucky enough to be part of FilmPride two years running and it's such a wonderful festival. On both occasions the communication from the FilmPride team was terrific and they do their best to aid networking, even when the festival is online. Thank you Deborah and team.

Deb and the FilmPride team are doing great things for the short film community - they are very supportive and communicative, you really feel like you are under their wing as they endeavour to get your work seen by as many people as possible - my last short even received television broadcasts and an audience of thousands thanks to FilmPride. So grateful for everything!
