WEAK
Two people across the desert lost their way in a sandstorm. One of them suffered from heatstroke, which made it difficult to move, and the drinking water was about to run out. The healthy man said to his heatstroke friend, "wait here, I'll find water. Here's a pistol. You take it. There are five bullets in the gun. Remember, in five hours, you shoot at the sky every hour. The sound of the gun will tell me where you are. I can find you smoothly. "
After the break-up, the heatstroke man fell into a coma. Five hours later, he was awakened by the alarm clock. He began to fire his gun. With the sound of each shot, his fear deepened and his confidence in his friend's rescue gradually lost. He became suspicious. His mental state became worse and worse. He had an illusion. He was on the verge of collapse. It was getting dark. How could he rescue himself.

Jiang Rui, also known as Jiang Tao,In 2013, the Anti Gravity film group was founded in Beijing, and the experimental image "Reputiles" was shot, which was supported and appreciated by NHK; In 2014, the group participated in the creation of Beijing Wild Child Film industry; From 2018 to 2019, he created short films”NetFriend“and the ”Weak“.
It's a story of trust that happened in the past or at some point in the future. The protagonist of the story faces a desperate situation, and gradually loses confidence in his friends and self with the passage of time. Strong fear and loneliness make him fantasize and suspect, which are like an invisible rope, slowly tightening his neck, binding his thinking, leaving him far away from his friends and hurting himself. Until the final moment comes, if he can hold on a little longer, there will be a different ending, but does he hold on? The open ending of the film allows each audience to have their own answers. When we are faced with this kind of desperate situation, how can we choose, believe in ourselves and the strength of people around us, persist until the last moment, or let ourselves fall into the dead end of anxiety before the final outcome comes? In the game of survival, the one who can survive is the one who has the strongest desire for survival.
